I do not really know the reason for my parents giving me my chinese name. However, I do have an idea of the reason for one of the characters in my chinese name that is “轩”Base on my parents, they named me that because it meant to be able to tolerate others and live with an open heart. I guess that to them, this factors may be one of the greatest expect towards being a happy person. Because being so, I would not try to remember what every said about me or did to me. Hence in such a case, I can try to avoid being easily affected.
The next character, I do not have a clear understanding on the word. However, the direct translation of the word is home. Perhaps the reason is to remember and be grateful what my family had given me. Too, be able to understand the importance of home.

How is an identity shaped?
I think that an identity is shaped when a person has their own decision and character. What I think makes an identity is when he/she does not live behind the shadows of others. One would not follow blindly upon what others does. Also, plans well for themselves and live to be recognised easily. He/she may not need to achieve 100% for everything but should always do things according to their own wishes. In order to do so, they should stand up for themsleves and not accept readily on anything.
1) I think that I am an independent learner, also, I prefer to study alone. However, that does not mean that I would not ask for others opinion, it is just that I would prefer to try and analyse my questions that I have than to be influenced by others' idea.
2)As though I am an independent learner, I do enjoy teamwork. I think that only when many people's ideas are combined, can a project be up to its maximum potential. I can easily adopt others' idea and improvise it, that is why I can always give better ideas to make my project a better one.
3) My greatest form of entertainment is unlike most other people, most are playing computer games, reading etc. However to me, my greatest wish is to have a day that is without any worries and that I can enjoy a series of programmes with ease. I think that only in this case, can I be fully charged-up for the future. Many may think that this is very bored, however, to me, its the best time of the year.

Who should be responsible for Margot's treatment.
I think that the person who should be reponsible for Margot's treatment would be her teacher. Being the teacher of a class full of young children that were only 9 years old, she should pay particularly more attention to them. Being Margot's teacher, she should have known that Margot preferred to be alone and was not on a good replationship with other children. However, not only she did not do so, she missed Margot's inexistence in the class, causing Margot to be locked up in the locker without being discovered. How could she listened to the children that everyone is present. She should have known very well, that children loved to run around and may be lost, hence, she should have calculated the number of children in the class! As the children are still young, many times they could not differ right from wrong, hence when the parents of the children placed their trust on the teacher to ensure their children's safety, the teacher should have the responsibility to take good care of the children.
If I were one of the children.
If I were one of the children, I would probably not lock Margot in the locker. To me, I think it will really frighten any child to be locked up in a locker. However, when I was just 9 years old back then, I would probably not have to courage to oppose every others decision. Hence, I think I would release Margot secretly without informing the other children. If I haven't had the opportunity to do so, surely I will inform the techer then, but I will still request to be anomynous. If these all fails, I may still hesitate a little to release Margot openly. However, under the circumstances of the story,
the Sun came out! Anyone one should know that any children in Venus will yearn for the Sun so much! Hence, I will certainly release Margot at once. Margot had been the one yearning for Sun the most, and said that the Sun will come out. Hence, the rights should not be taken away from her. I don't one anyone to have this regret for the next 7 years, it is too cruel for someone, especially a children. I guess this would be a win-win situation.

A situation of collaboration
Such a situation had happened to me last year, for the Projects competition. I worked intensively with my members and we were all in charged of diffirent parts of the projects. I was supposed to plan the whole t'skeleton' of the project and assigned the work to my respective members.Whereas for the rest of the three members, two were assigned to research and one to create the website. It was an intensive period of time when we had trouble meeting up, hence having to communicate online. I found especailly hard for myself to make two of my memebers work as they seemed to have dificulties understanding the project. Also, they are not willing to conribute to the project and hence causing much trouble to me.
I guess I may not be a great leader or assigner after all. Perhaps I do need a way to let other members to work willingly for me and to be more devoted in the project.

Comic strip assignment reflection
Through the assignment, I realised that there could be more than a way of expressing an idea or a thought. Normally, we would express our ideas in terms of words and paragraphs. But through this assignment, I could also convey my ideas in terms of comic strips. Through comic strips, we can form the whole "backbone" of an essay in just four graphics, including the introduction, development, climax, and the ending.
I think that this is quite an effective way of plotting a story, especially a narrative writing. Through the visual, one would be able to write the story effectively as one would not have to imagine the settings. Since the comic strips include the main points of the whole story, we can write our story only based on the comic strip, hence would not get out of point easily. This can prevent us from only touching the point but not develop the content well. If there is more than one scene in the climax, we can also use the 6-box comic strips.
I feel that from the assignment, I can use my creativity to express my ideas. Also, difference expressions of the character can easily be linked to the various thoughts and feelings of the character I am writing about.
However, one thing I think about the producing of comic strip is that one may not have good illustration skills and others may misinterpret us. If we were to use it as a way to plot our story, it is also quite time exhausting.
Overall, I liked the assignment a lot as I feel that it was really interesting. Through such assignment, although there had been difficulties, the end product of the assignment was definitely worth the effort.

LA comic strip
This is my comic strip that shows a character throwing rubbish and being thrown at. My theme of the comic is to show that many small acts can have a resounding effect.
This is about the main character of the story not being considerate and thus throws rubbish anywhere he goes. Because others does the same thing, he is a last, affected.
1.I chose the bear being my main character of the comic strip as the bear best show the laziness of some people in the society nowadays. To represent an urban city, it is best to choose a flat and by the road as my background. These also contribute to my comic being more 'aive'.
2.Through these images, we can easily relate them to our usual live, also, what we see very commonly through the days etc: throwing rubbish on the ground. The background depicts an urban city, the character has the mbecauseovements I want, and the sequence shows what the character did and the effect.
3.As the theme of my comic is that small acts by many people can cause a resounding effect, firstly, because the surrounding buildings are flats, it shows that there may be many people. Then, the bear shows one of the resident and that what small acts of inconsiderate may cause a huge problem that probably will apply to him/herslf.

My goal for LA this year.
I would like to improve on my vocabulary use when I speak. Well, the reason is firstly, I always had a poor use of vocabulary since I was young. Sometimes, I even had trouble communicating well with others.
Hence, the second reason is to improve on my communication with ebglish-speaking people. Very often, in literaure books, there will be much conversations, and there had been much time where I do not understand the meaning of these words and sentence structure, causing my progress to be very slow.
With a better use of vocabulary, I would be able to convey speeches to the class more clearly, giving me more confidence to speak up in class in English. To me this had always been an obstacle and thus I would like to have a break through this year.

The most valuable thing I have learnt last year in LA.
The most important thing I have learnt last year in Language Arts is to analyse and appreciate poems.
Why? Well, the reason is of course, there will be many times that I come across poems and do not understand, reason being the way the poem is wrote, and the words used. After learning how to analyse the poem, I can understand what kind of feeling the poet had when composing the poem, with that, even though I face words that I do not understand, I could still understand the main idea of the whole poem.
To be able to appreciate a poem means a lot to me too. To me in the past, I find the poems dull. But now, after understanding the poem, I can appreciate the poem and also to connect it to my normal days.

My favourite book
My favorite book is The Cardturner by Louis Sachar.
Louis Sachar has always been my favourite author all the while. Don't be mistaken by the title of the book, it is not about gambling, in fact, it includes a game called bridge. The author wrote the story in a humorous way, in which left me a deep impression. As though the story is very humorous, the ending was a simple and touching one, even though no strong expression of the main character was involved.
The story basically wrote about the game "bridge", with much explanation of the game. The way the author described how someone can be so devoted to the game had touched me. The author also uses simple words and phrases, however, bringing out deeper meanings. He also pays attention to some common incidents and puts inside his book. For examples, the use of double negatives, etc: "Have you not liked the food? No." This is a common thing that happened to us, however, only Louis pointed it out.

Have you ever been in the company of a group of which you were clearly not a member? What was the circumstance? How did you act? How were you treated
This had happened to me when I was Primary 4, when I changed my primary school to a new school. I entered a class where my classmates mostly knew each other very well since they were from the same class the previous year and most had already formed their own group of friends.
Hence on the first few weeks of the school, I kept most of my comments to myself and also, seldom talked unless prompted. However, after those weeks, as I knew them better, I attempted to talk to some of my classmates sitting around me but most of them just gave me very short responds and some even ignored me and walked away coldly.
On their responds, I felt very dejected, but comforted myself that they will recognise my presence soon.
It was until the class was assigned into groups for a project. During the group discussion, mr groupmates discussed on their own, also, preventing me in the presentation. On their actions, I was very upset, and thought that I will be all by myself for the rest of the year.
Finally, until one day, one of my classmates approached me and invited me to join his group for a project. It was until then I clarified that the reason for the coldness of my classmates to me was because it was rumoured that I was being expelled of my previous school. I was glad that the classmate accepted me and gave me a chance to explain. From then on, I had my own group of friends. Even though it was not a large group, but I ws glad to have company.

Song that had the greatest impact on me
Colours of the wind
You think I'm an ignorant savage
And you've been so many places
I guess it must be so
But still I cannot see
If the savage one is me
How can there be so much that you don't know?
You don't know ...
You think you own whatever land you land on
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
How high will the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know
And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the Earth and still
All you'll own is Earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind
You think I'm an ignorant savage
And you've been so many places
I guess it must be so
But still I cannot see
If the savage one is me
How can there be so much that you don't know?

In this song, there were many important things to learn. Firstly, I have learnt to respect all lives on the Earth, and live in harmony with them. We need understand that not only humans are the lives on the Earth, but also the animals, the nature.
The line that had the greatest impact on me was "You think the only people who are people,Are the people who look and think like you,But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger,You'll learn things you never knew you never knew" It is too about the relationship on mankind with his environment, and the understanding. Not until we have experienced a strangers live can we determined his/her fate.
This had also inspired me that there were so many things we had never went by. The greatest wealth is actually the nature, not just superficial wealth. Respecting and loving the Earth is to protect her, and the lives in her. The Earth belongs to everybody, and hence should not have been separated into territories.

A big fish in a small pond
1. The phrase meant to me that someone or something is being contained in an undersized place, or where someone could not carry out things to his/her full potential.
2.He wanted to prove that the best way to capture a women's heart was a wedding ring.
3.He was motivated by his father's words and belived them. However, as he grew up, he started not to believe those words and thought that those were exaggerations.
4.He thought that it was the biggest time of his life.
5.The relationship of William and his father was only tied with William's admirations.
6.A person that sees ghost. To prove the impossible.
7.Yes. For a tall tale, words had been used to exaggerate and hence misleading people form the fact. The fact may not be really incredible. However, a straight repotrage will allow people to analyse the truth themselves, and hence will believable.
